Learning about natural light

I had the idea of taken some pictures of my niece Mylan for my sister Alison's birthday in 2010. I took her out along with my three little ones and we took a few pictures, however the sunlight was a little problem. I didn't realize that shooting photos in the early afternoon in April would make the exposure so bad. Oh well you have to learn some how.....
